For a number of years, Mr. Saco has been called upon to vet the authenticity of modern and contemporary furniture and decorations by Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Phillips, among others. He has also served on a committee to vet this material at the former International Art and Antiques Fair in New York, and at the Winter Antiques Show, and has been invited to join a vetting committee in this area for spring TEFAF New York. He regularly consults with interior designers and private and institutional clients with respect to the authorship, authenticity, and condition of prospective purchases, which has become increasingly important at a moment when the marketplace has been flooded with reproductions passing as genuine objects.
